Dean R. Bennett, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Bennett is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeon and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He specializes in lower extremity joint replacements with a special interest in the foot and ankle. He graduated with a BA in Chemistry and a BS in Biology from the University of California Irvine in 1974; getting his MD in Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh. His post graduate training with internship at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, completing his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Pittsburgh and a post graduate year at the University of Glasgow in Glasgow, Scotland, U.K.
Dr. Bennett has tailored his practice to include sports related injuries in children and adults, as well as, chronic ailments such as treatment of arthritis in the lower joints including hip, knee, ankle and foot with reconstruction and joint replacements. He has a special interest in arthroscopic knee and ankle repairs, ACL reconstructions, and foot deformities in both children and adults and ankle fusions.
Dr. Bennett is active at Fair Oaks Hospital being former Chairman of Orthopaedics and currently serving on the Credentials committee. Additionally he has been the team physician for Centreville High School since 1990. He has resided in Northern Virginia since 1984, with his family and when not practicing medicine he is active in sport and serving as coach for his daughter's sports teams.
