Brent R. Ain, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Ain is an orthopaedic surgeon who has practiced in Fairfax County, Virginia since 1977. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He practices general orthopaedic surgery, treating musculoskeletal disorders which cover all age groups and a wide variety of conditions. He has extensive experience in fracture care, sports related injuries and degenerative as well as rheumatological disorders. He has developed a special interest and expertise in reconstructive surgery of the hip, knee, and shoulder, including total joint replacement, anterior cruciate reconstruction of the knee, rotator cuff repair, and open as well as arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder and ankle.

Dr. Ain, a native of New York, received his undergraduate education at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He attended Tulane University School of Medicine from which he received his M.D. in 1972. He completed his internship and general surgery training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the George Washington University Medical Center in 1977.

Dr. Ain has maintained an interest in teaching and has served in various roles at George Washington University Medical Center where he currently is a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is chairman of the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Fair Oaks Hospital as well as a past chairman of a number of medical committees at Fair Oaks Hospital. He is actively involved in the community, serving as team physician at various high schools in Northern Virginia.

Dr. Ain is a well respected area surgeon who has been included in the Washingtonian Magazine’s "Top Doctors" list many times, most recently in the 2008 edition.

Dr. Stephen Pournaras is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been practicing in the Northern Virginia area since 1986.

Dr. Pournaras is a general orthopaedist with a subspecialty in hand and upper extremity and treats patients of all ages. His subspecialty includes numerous upper extremity problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis of the thumb, lacerations of tendons and nerves of the hand, fractures of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder as well as disorders of the elbow and shoulder. Dr. Pournaras is well versed in arthroscopy of the shoulder; including rotator cuff repair, wrist, elbow and knee disorders and in Endoscopic Carpal Tunnel Release and Thumb Arthritis surgery.

Dr. Pournaras attended both undergraduate and medical school at the University of Virginia. He received his medical school diploma from the University of Virginia in 1980 and completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic surgery at George Washington University Hospital. In 1986 Dr. Pournaras spent a year in Los Angeles, California as a Joseph Boyes Hand fellow specializing in surgery of the hand.

Dr. Pournaras is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He primarily practices at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia where he has served as past chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic surgery and is currently a clinical associate professor of Orthopaedic surgery at George Washington University Hospital.

Christopher P. Silveri, M.D., FAAOS

Christopher P. Silveri, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Silveri is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in non-operative and operative treatment of spinal disorders. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also serves as investigator for new osteobiologic bone graft advances in spinal surgery and has been asked to train surgeons nationwide in the FDA approved disc replacement technologies.

His practice accepts patients of all age groups. He treats neck, back, arm and leg pain, numbness, degenerative arthritis of the spine, disc problems, fractures and other spinal trauma, pinched nerves or other nerve injuries, deformity or curvature of the spine, infections, and cancer related illness. Dr. Silveri offers scoliosis screening and treatment for both children and adults, and complex reconstructive care for those patients who have previously undergone surgery.

Dr. Silveri completed undergraduate studies at Georgetown University where he received cum laude honors. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1989 where he received the departmental award for excellence in orthopaedic surgery. He also completed a fellowship year specializing in neurosurgical spinal surgery at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Silveri completed his formal orthopaedic surgical residency training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. He also completed a fellowship year in Reconstructive Spine and Scoliosis Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Silveri is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgetown University and a clinical instructor with George Washington University Medical Center's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a past Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Dr. Silveri is a member of the North American Spine Society, The Medical Society of Virginia, Fairfax County Medical Society, and is currently on staff at INOVA Fair Oaks and Fairfax Hospitals, Columbia Reston Hospital, and Prince William Hospital.

He has published numerous articles and has edited and authored a textbook on Spinal Trauma. He is also an Editor on Spine Universe.com, a web site created to educate and inform both the layperson and professional on topics related to the spine. Dr. Silveri has been named in the Washingtonian Magazines list of Top 100 spine surgeons. He is also listed in the Cambridge Who's Who of Professional Medicine-2009 and the Consumer Research Guide to Americas Top Orthopedists-2009.

Ryan Miyamoto, M.D.

Ryan Miyamoto, M.D., FAAOS
Dr. Ryan Miyamoto is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of athletic injuries and performs arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, and hip. He has a special interest in joint preservation of the active patient. His practice includes patients of all ages and encompasses treatment of fractures, sports injuries, and arthritis of the shoulder, hip and knee. His subspecialty covers numerous sports injuries such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, ACL injuries, meniscus and cartilage damage in the knee, as well as labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement in the hip. Dr. Miyamoto performs arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee and hip and is also certified in collagen meniscal implant surgery.

A native of suburban Maryland, Dr. Miyamoto graduated from Princeton University where he was a member of the 1995 Ivy League Champion football team. He then attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he obtained his medical degree followed by residency at New York University-Hospital for Joint Diseases. During residency, Dr. Miyamoto completed specialized training in orthopaedic trauma surgery at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, one of the busiest and most respected trauma centers in the country.

After residency, Dr. Miyamoto went on to complete a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Steadman-Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. During his fellowship, he participated in the orthopaedic care of many professional athletes including members of the US Ski and Snowboard Teams.

Dr. Miyamoto has published numerous articles in the predominant orthopaedic journals including the American Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Journal of Orthopaedics. Additionally, he has co-authored several book chapters including the arthroscopic treatment of cartilage injuries in the hip as well as ACL injuries in the mature athlete. Dr. Miyamoto is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy.
